Dear Students, Parents and Community Members:

I am very proud to serve as the Superintendent of the Montgomery Area School District.  Our District covers 87 square miles and is comprised of the Borough of Montgomery, Brady Township, Clinton Township, and Washington Township, and is home to over 900 students Pre-K through 12.

As a district we set yearly goals in order to focus our actions for continuous improvement.  We pride ourselves on “doing whatever it takes” for all of our students to reach their full potential academically, athletically and artistically. Our staff focuses on meeting individualized needs of our students with the goal of preparing them for college, career, or military service upon graduation from the Montgomery Senior High School.

Financially we have remained stable throughout the last ten years of reduced basic education subsidy, and increased mandates in School Safety, Mental Health, Cyber Education, and Increased Academic Standards.  We have met these challenges with hard work and resiliency as our district continues to outperform its peers across the Commonwealth.

Developing relationships with our students as well as the community is our strength.  We care about the welfare of our students and of each other.  Our Montgomery “Family” is well articulated as we strive to make connections across the community.  A strong community-school connection is vital to the success of our District.  We encourage you to take advantage of the many events that showcase our students and their tremendous talents.  Art shows, musical events, plays, and athletic events are just a few ways to become connected with the Montgomery Area School District.

Thank you for the opportunity to work with such a wonderful community, school board, and dedicated teachers and staff.

With Raider Pride,

Daphne L. Bowers, Superintendent
