hs-frontWelcome to the Montgomery Area High School website, home of the Red Raiders.  At the high school, we strive to lead each student to develop to their fullest potential and become contributing members of society.  We offer students the opportunity to develop through their academic core courses in math, English, science, and social studies, as well as the related arts in music, art, PE, and tech prep classes. Advanced Placement courses and dual enrollment classes are offered in which students can excel.  In addition, we offer a variety of sports, including football, soccer, hockey, tennis, golf, wrestling, basketball, football, softball, and baseball in which students can participate.  Through our efforts of doing “whatever it takes”, we prepare our students to become good citizens in the community in which they live.

Congratulations to Kate Forrestal and Abby Stryker on finishing runner-up in the District 4 Doubles Tournament today. With that finish, the girls have qualified for the state tournament in Hershey on November 2nd! Way to go ladies!

It is my privilege to announce this week's Athlete of the Week from the girls tennis team, Abby Stryker. Abby has been a staple in the girls tennis team's success the past two years. She plays at the #2 singles position and is a captain for the team. Abby has helped lead the team to a 16-2 overall record and a league championship.

Her coaches had this to say about her:

"Abby is a great captain for the team. From the time she steps onto the court she fights until the very end of each match. She does what it takes to win for herself and for her teammates. All of her coaches and peers admire and respect her for her work ethic on and off the courts. She leads by example. "

Way to go Abby!

The football team would like to recognize Brennan Bailey for his performance last week against Troy. He is a constant force on the offensive and defensive line. He is extremely reliable at both positions. Brennan had a forced fumble and scored from 60 yards out to give Montgomery the lead in the game! Congrats Brennan!

The girls soccer team would like to recognize Nita Imeri for her work ethic, leadership and outstanding play this year. She has been solid wherever the coaches put her and is very important part of the girls 7 victories this year.
Nice job Nita!

Good luck the remainder of the Fall Season!

Congratulations to Caleb Hipple and Dylan Ring for representing Montgomery this past Wednesday at the annual PSBA (Pennsylvania School Board Association) conference in Hershey. Montgomery’s Communications and Virtuoso programs were invited to present on how small schools are able to innovate and collaborate to give students opportunities in 21st century arts. Caleb and Dylan were phenomenal ambassadors for these programs and our school. They, along with Mrs. Carpenter and myself, would like to acknowledge, credit and thank all students in these programs as well as our alumni who have helped to put Montgomery on the map. As the boys said on Wednesday, "we are not limited by the size of our school, we are motivated by it.”
