Chemistry Students Have One SWEET Lesson
Today, students in Mr. Crawford’s Chemistry classes learned the science behind ice cream—literally! They explored phase changes, discovering how adding rock salt to ice lowers the freezing point of water by interfering with the intermolecular forces in water, causing an endothermic reaction and helping them make delicious homemade ice cream. Who knew chemistry could be so sweet?

"History Students Attend PCT Day”
Today, students from Mr. Newcomer’s Pennsylvania College of Technology dual enrollment courses, attended a campus visit and workshops tailored to Montgomery Area High School. Montgomery offers multiple opportunities for students to receive college credits before graduation. Out History department is no exception with offerings in World History, AP US History, and AP Psychology. Today’s visit was a requirement for students to fulfill all course obligations and included a campus tour, sessions in “Emergency Management” and “The Fields of Helping”, and a panel discussion on student engagement in campus life and activities. Dr. Craig Miller, chair of the Social Science Department, coordinated the day as well as presenting to our students. What an amazing extended educational day for our history scholars!
