Hello College Bound Seniors and Families,
I wanted to remind families about the upcoming FAFSA completion workshop on February 19th. This workshop is virtual but you do need to sign up in advance for the program. I have sent an email to all seniors that includes a QR code for registration. If you email me directly, I am happy to send this information to any parent or guardian needing this information. In addition, I have information in my office about how to create a FSA ID. Students are encouraged to stop by to pick up a flyer. The FSA ID needs to be created BEFORE you attend the virtual FAFSA completion workshop. This can take a few days so it is a good idea to get the flyer and information as soon as possible.
Please reach out to me at dliscum@montasd.org or by phone at 570-547-1608 ext. 1115. I am happy to help.

“Arrendondo Named Artist of the Week”
Here is a submission from art teacher, Mrs. Sampsell….
Congratulations to this week’s ARTIST OF THE WEEK, Rihanna N. Arrendondo. Rihanna is an Art III Junior that takes great pride in her artwork. Her artistic talents have grown leaps and bounds throughout these past three years. Her favorite art mediums include drawing and acrylic paint. Both are incredibly versatile and able to blend to create realistic works of art. After high school, Rihanna plans on attending college to become a physician’s assistant. When asked what art means to her, she stated, “My older brother was into art so that's where my interest started. Art to me is an outlet if I'm having a bad day. I have lots of different hobbies but art has always been one of my favorites.”

They toured state-of-the-art facilities, interacted with high-tech simulation equipment, and learned about the real-world challenges healthcare workers face.
