Attention Seniors and Senior Parents! Next week on Wednesday November 6th, you will have your Senior portraits taken by our school photographer in the auditorium. Please check your email for your scheduled portrait time. Contact Miss Aichner at saichner@montasd.org with any questions. Below is a guide for appropriate attire. Appropriate Senior Portrait Attire: **All Attire MUST BE SCHOOL APPROPRIATE and follow school dress codes** The expectation is that you will be in business casual for your picture. Please avoid t-shirts (especially any graphics or words), anything with holes, stains, etc. If you have any questions or concerns about your outfit, ask Miss Aichner. LADIES -A formal sweater, blouse, or dress is good. Long sleeves or capped short sleeves are ideal. Avoid strong patterns - simple is best. Wear solid color with no large distracting patterns. Avoid thin sleeves or “spaghetti” type straps. GENTLEMEN -A dressy or button-up shirt with/without a tie has been the standard and we still recommend it. Sweater shirts, pullovers, polo-style shirts are also acceptable. Again, simple is best — no crazy patterns, please.

Congratulations to this week’s Artist of the Week, Jaiden N. Skiro. She is an incredible visual art student in and out of the classroom. Jaiden takes every art challenge presented to her and finds a way to make it hers. If she had to choose an art medium as her favorite, it would be acrylic paint. “I really enjoy working with acrylic paints in either marker or palette form. It’s the medium I used often as a kid so I’m more comfortable with it.” Jaiden has recently been chosen to represent Lycoming County in the PennDOT’s “Paint the Plow” art contest. High school art students were invited to submit creative artwork for consideration from surrounding counties. This program allows PennDOT and local communities to cultivate public awareness and promote winter driving safety on state roadways. Jaiden will be painting her winning design onto a retired plow blade which once completed will be on display at our local county maintenance office. Her plans include attending Penn State University and majoring in Psychology with a concentration towards art therapy. When asked what art means to her she stated, “Art allows me to escape from the world around us. It’s a way to ground myself and distracts me from everything. Art is always there and can be created in many different forms. Even a simple pencil drawing can get a point across.”

If you submitted a photo last year, you are already in this year’s slideshow. Please do not confuse this with the elementary assembly. They are two separate presentations. Please include name, rank, and branch. Submit to Mrs. McNear via FB or email (cmcnear@montasd.org)

Football - Trace Furman Trace has played outstanding football for the Red Raider on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball this season. He brings a tremendous work ethic to practice each day and is developing into a strong leader. Last week against Northwest he found the endzone on both sides of the ball. He caught 4 passes for 61 yards and a TD! He also had a pick 6! Great job Trace!
