Students in Ms. Murray’s Driver’s Ed class were tasked with finding an organization that they would consider supporting. The organizations are non-profit and their primary purpose is service to the community. Once they found an organization, they had to create a PA plate to represent them and their organizations. A few examples chosen were breast cancer awareness and suicide prevention as well as various colleges and sports teams.

In chemistry with Mr. Crawford, students are learning how electrons of atoms emit different colors of light as they go from their ground state to their excited state.  Different elements give off their own distinct wavelengths of light, which cause different colors.

Congratulations to this week’s Artist of the Week, Kurrah L. Bohner. She does an amazing job of jumping in headfirst into every art challenge presented to her. Kurrah also has a great respect for the visual arts and really enjoys learning about new art techniques. Recently, she has been the recipient of the Judge Greevy Award – Best in Show at this summer’s Lycoming County Fair in the colored pencil division. This is her second Greevy award during her high school art career. The award is given to only two works of art in Lycoming County that display mastery in their craft. Kurrah has also been chosen to represent Montgomery High School’s visual art program for the WVIA Artist of the Week broadcast. Her artwork will be displayed on the WVIA channel along with other representatives across the state. After high school, Kurrah plans on attending Bella Capelli Academy in with a concentration towards hair and nails. When asked what art means to her, she stated, “Art allows me to feed into my creative obsessions. There is no right or wrong answer. Art is completely subjective.”

Varsity Football - O-Line The varsity football coaches would like to recognize their offensive line for paving the way for over 600 yards of offense in their week 3 victory over Sayre. Caleb Parkyn, Ethan Hugar, Layne Gingery, Conner Jarrett, Landyn Rine, Braiden Winter and Ethan Tupper all made contributions to the Red Raiders offensive line play in which they scored 55 points against Sayre and earned the team's first victory of the season! Great job boys!

Boys Soccer - Damaj Stewart-Williams Damaj was a late addition to our roster but has made an immediate impact for the Red Raiders. As a central defensive back, he is tasked with coordinating defensive coverage in our defensive third. This includes everything on the ground and in the air. Above the playing surface is where Damaj excels scoring his first two goals of the season off corner kick services in wins over Meadowbrook Christian and Williams Valley. He is a great leader on the field motivating his teammates to be better bringing out the best in them. Damaj is also one of the fastest players on the field every match and possesses the ability to go the entire 80 minutes when called upon. Great work Damaj!

Cheer - Addi Muhl Addi helped guide the youth cheerleaders at practice this week, getting ready for Youth Night and was a great leader for last week's game. She kept the momentum up at the game against Sayre and led the cheerleaders in cheers and dances that kept the crowd engaged. As a multi-sport athlete, Addi has been able to manage a dedicated work ethic and is a great role model for the team. Our team would not be the same without her this year! Well done Addi!

Golf- Matt Moser Matt played well during last week’s match and ended up with the 2nd best score on the team. He is a big part of the reason why the team has an excellent chance of repeating as the Mid-Penn champs.

Girls Soccer - Lily Burchell Lily has been putting in 90 minutes every game since the beginning of the season and giving everything she’s got. She has really become a leader from the back line. She is a player I know will give me her all not only during the games, but during practice as well. Keep it up Lily!
