
Communications Students Place at States -
PA PRESS AWARDS - Congratulations to 19 of our Communications students who, collectively, had 12 projects place at the 2026 Pennsylvania Press Club (affiliate of the National Federation of Press Women) annual high school state journalism contest.
For the third year in a row, Montgomery was the only single “A” school to place in any of the categories and competed against AAAA+ and private high schools. In the 5 competitive photo and video categories entered, we placed in all 5. Listed are those categories we entered and subsequent placement(s):

Montgomery Students to Lead 2026-27 YDTF -
Three Montgomery students will be helping lead the Lycoming County Youth Development Task Force next year. Adelyn Brown and Lainie Solano will be the social media managers. Addison Gregor will be the secretary. Congratulations to all on your leadership and dedication!

Concert Band Receives ADVANCED Rating -
Congratulations to the Senior High Concert Band and Mr. Trey Fox on earning a rating of EXCELLENT/ADVANCED for the second year in a row at the annual music performance assessment held in Lewisburg today. They were judged by 3 collegiate level band directors who determined the score.

February Historians of the Month

Heasley Named Artist of the Month -
Congratulations to Avery Heasley who has been named as Artist of the Month for her exceptional work and dedication to the musical theatre program. Avery is an emerging talent and leader who focuses her time and efforts to make herself and her cast mates stronger and better. Thank you, Avery‼️

Pysher Participates in Region Band🎶 -
Congratulations to Shawn Pysher who earned a place through an audition at District Band to play in the PMEA Region IV Band festival this past week. Schools from districts 8 and 9 are eligible to audition and participate in this event.

STRONG Student Leadership Team Attends Positivity Conference -
Students representing the high school’s STRONG (self-driven, tolerant, resilient, optimistic, nice, giving) student leadership team attended a Jostens Renaissance conference yesterday at Cumberland Valley school district. Our team members were able to network with numerous districts from across the state on school positivity as well as hear from keynote speaker, Carlos Ojeda Jr.

Huynh Recognized by Geisinger -
Congratulations to junior, Kim Huynh, who received 2nd place in Geisinger's annual “Wake Up and Learn” poster contest. This competition coincides with Geisinger’s commitment to bring awareness to the importance of sleep for overall health, wellness, and learning.

FFA Donates to Ronald McDonald House -
Today, members of the Montgomery FFA participated in “The Farmers Care”event at the Ronald McDonald House in Danville. The students involved delivered donations collected in our school and community. Thank you to all who donated and thank you, Montgomery FFA!

Montgomery NHS Chapter Inducts 2026 Class -
Congratulations to the 14 new members inducted into the Evadne Ruggles Chapter of the National Honor Society this evening. Members are chosen through a rigorous application and selection process based on Scholarship, Leadership, Character, and Service.
This is the largest class inducted in the past decade and members are eager to become involved in a Montgomery chapter that has impacted our community and reached national recognition for service projects. Most recently, officers and advisor, Mrs. Jessica Carpenter presented at the national LEAD conference in Washington D.C.
