
Hello Parents/Guardians of Seniors,
I have recently emailed information to all seniors about a scholarship offered by the DuBoistown Garden Club. Students pursuing a field of study in one of the following areas or similar majors are encouraged to apply: Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Floral Design, Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering, Nature Conservation, Recycling, Waste Management, or Sustainability
Students who are unsure if their field of study will qualify should see me so I am able to inquire. I have copies in my office for interested students! Applications are due before April 15th. Please contact me at dliscum@montasd.org or by phone at 570-547-1608 ext. 1115.

Congratulations to the Montgomery students who represented the junior high band program at last week’s Lycoming County Junior High Band festival. They are the first artists of the week for the month of March.

Ag Mechanics Safety
Students in Mr. Ulrich’s Ag Mechanics class worked on Chainsaw and Wood Splitting safety this morning. The project will come full circle as wood will be used to boil maple sap for a future maple syrup making project.

Congratulations to Coach Furman, her staff, and the girls' wrestling team on capturing the 2025 Central Regional team title on Saturday at Milton! The girls had 8 wrestlers in the tournament and four qualified for states this week in Hershey!
Briella Walk and Emily Murphy finished runner-up. while Jenna Houseknecht and Zoe Furman both won their first regional titles! All four of them will be competing in Hershey on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Brandt Harer earned his third NE Regional title this weekend, while Coy Bryson finished third, and Trace Furman ended up fourth! All three will compete in Hershey beginning Thursday morning.

Good luck to the boys and girls wrestlers who qualified for their respective regional tournaments! The boys NE AA Regional Tournament will begin tonight and finish tomorrow at Williamsport HS. The girls will compete at the Central Regional tomorrow at Milton HS. The top four wrestlers from each weight class will advance to the state tournaments next week in Hershey.

Elem grades 3-6 Progress Reports have been posted to the Parent Portal.

Good morning,
Progress reports for the third quarter have been uploaded to the student and parent SIS portals. The current quarter will end on March 25, 2025, and report cards will be issued on April 1, 2025. Students who had previously arranged to receive paper copies of their grade reports will be called down to the office by Mrs. Carey later this afternoon or by Mrs. Hill tomorrow.

Career Link is once again offering Camp STEAM to interested students. The program will run virtually via ZOOM from March 17-20 and 24-27 from 3:30-5:00 on each day.
Students earn $150 for participation in the event AND receive Job Shadow credit.
• Learn about careers in STEAM based fields. Virtual Tours are provided to various employers
• Explore local training providers and colleges
• Develop a career pathway plan
• Learn important skills that will look great on a resume
• Participate in fun activities and projects

Congratulations to the following members of our varsity wrestling team who will be continuing to the region level of competition next weekend. In addition to securing the 139 pound championship, Brandt Harer also earned his 150th win.

The American Legion Auxiliary is sponsoring a $1000 scholarship for a graduating senior girl who is planning to pursue some of higher education. I have emailed this information to all of the students and have copies of the scholarship application in my office.
