My name is Mrs. Walton. I am the nurse at Montgomery Area School District. I have been in the district since 2009 and have been a nurse since 1993. I received my BSN degree from Bloomsburg University and my school nurse certification from East Stroudsburg University. I have also received my Masters in Nursing from Bloomsburg Universityin 2012.

I know that for children, coming to the nurse’s office can be very anxiety producing. I want to assure you that I will do everything I can to alleviate that anxiety. Please remember that the nurse’s office is not a medical service but rather I am here to assist/assess daily health needs. If any issues or problems arise I will be contacting parents/guardians to make arrangements for their child.

I also wanted to address the school policy regarding fevers. Any student with a temperature of 100.0 or higher will be sent home. The student needs to be fever-free for 24 hours without the help of fever-reducing medication in order to return to school. I ask that each parent/guardian follow this policy closely in order to help prevent unnecessary spread of illness.

Students will be sent home as necessary when ill but it is my goal to help students stay healthy and in school so they can get the most out of his/her education.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

I am looking forward to a great year!
