Construction Technology

Construction Technology – This program prepares students to apply knowledge and skills in the construction technology field.  Instruction is provided in the basic skills in a variety or areas associated with building construction such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, heating, and electrical.  Instruction includes, but is not limited to blue print reading; cost estimating, uses of hand and power tools, cutting, fitting, fastening and finishing various materials; and applying technical specifications and knowledge concerning the physical properties of materials

Partnership Programs

College dual enrollment credit and/or articulated credit for successful completion of the Construction Technology program may be awarded up to 7 credits at the Pennsylvania College of Technology in the Building Construction Technology program .  IStudents also have the option of earning 3 credits through PCT by successfully completing the CAD course as well as 1 credit for completion of Construction Hand and Power Tools.  In addition, students have the capacity to earn 3 college credits by scoring 70% orhigher on the NOCTI (National Occupational Competency Testing Institute) end of program assessment.
