Academic Success  - PSSA - 2010 - When the District PSSA scores were released by the PA Department of Education, the Montgomery Area School District ranked in the top 10% in both Reading and Mathematics in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  To recognize this milestone, all students within the district was treated to an ice cream sundae social during National Education Week that was celebrated Novemeber 15-19, 2010.
 
Distinquished Title I Schools - Each year, the division of Federal Programs allocates a portion of Title I funds to recognize Title I schools that have made substantial gains in the PSSA proficiency scores of their subgroups and overall continued success of their total population of students.  During the 2010-2011 school year, the Montgomery Area Middle School was recognized for scores of the Special Education improving by more than 20% .  In addition, Elimsport Elementary was recognized for continued success of students in reading and mathematics.
 
Academic Achievement Awards for Title I - The Montgomery Elementary School and the Elimsport Elementary School have been notified by the Department of Education that they are receiving Academic Achievement Awards for the success of Title I students on the PSSA Assessment during the 2008-2009 school year.
 
Blue Ribbon School Award - Montgomery Elementary School was awarded the Blue Ribbon Award for Excellence by the Department of Education in Washington D. C.  for their academic achievement as measured by the PSSA.  The Blue Ribbon awards program honors public and private elementary, middle and high schools that are either academically superior or that demonstrate dramatic gains in student achievement to high levels.  In addition to being honored at a ceremony in Washington D. C., where each school receives a plaque and flag signifying their status, these schools serve as models for other schools throughout the nation.
 
US News & World Report Bronze Medal of Honor - For the second year in a row, the Montgomery Area High School has been recognized as a bronze medal winner by U.S. News and World Report for the 2008-2009 school year.  The methodolgy developed by School Evaluation Services, a K12 education data research business run by Standard & Poor's, is based on the key principles that a great high school must serve all its students well, not just those who are bound for college and it must be able to produce measurable academic outcomes to show that the school is successfully educating its student body across a range of performance indicators.
