Our homework is listed daily in our agendas. Parents, please remember to help your child check his/her agenda daily and initial your child's behavior chart daily. It is so important to help your child develop these routines in early years so they are well prepared for the future.
Our weekly schedule usually follows this routine:
Bag Books: Monday through Friday
(Our goal is to be reading at least 15 minutes each night. As the year progresses, some students may start reading 1-2 chapters each night for this 15 minute goal.)
Please log any other book titles your child reads as well (ex. Library books, books from home, TumbleBooks) and their AR Test numbers if available. This helps your child earn points for Class Book Points and AR Rewards for Reading. You can help me by looking up AR points online for your books at home by visiting www.arbookfind.com. Thanks in advance!
Math or Spelling worksheet: Monday through Thursday
Trick Words Practice: Please help your child practice spelling and reading the trick words that show up in the side of their agendas. You can also practice the word lists in their homework folders in the plastic sheets. These words need to be mastered in first grade.
Class Projects are assigned from time to time. Please watch for those in your child's homework folder as well. They will have a due date listed on the assignment.
