Registration Information

To register a child in the Montgomery Area School District, please call 570-547-1608 to make an appointment.  For students in grades K-6, please call the elementary office at extension 1127, and for students in 7-12, please call the high school office at extension 1100.  It is very important that you register your child as soon as possible.  Your cooperation with this matter allows for a smooth transition to a new school and for the district to effectively plan for the needs of all students.

Immunization records and social security numbers are required for registration.  Two forms of proof of residency must also be provided at the time of registration.  Proof of birth is necessary for those who enroll for the first time in pre-k, kindergarten or first grade or for anyone registering from out of state.  Available academic information such as report cards from a previous school are helpful.  If your child has an IEP, please bring a copy with you when you register.

October 2nd 2018, Author and illustrator Lynne Jonell visited our school from Minneapolis, MN. We have used three of her books for our All School Read in the past. “Emmy and the Incredible Shrinking Rat”,
“Sign of the Cat” and “The Secret of Zoom”. Lynne did an art lesson with us, explained how she became an author, and how she gets her writing ideas. She told the kids to never give up as it took her 9 years to get published. We are sooo thankful she didn’t give up. She is an amazing writer and it was awesome to get to meet her and have her spend the day with us and sign our books. Thank you PTO for providing this visit!

It is my privilege to announce this week's Athlete of the Week from the girls tennis team, Abby Stryker. Abby has been a staple in the girls tennis team's success the past two years. She plays at the #2 singles position and is a captain for the team. Abby has helped lead the team to a 16-2 overall record and a league championship.

Her coaches had this to say about her:

"Abby is a great captain for the team. From the time she steps onto the court she fights until the very end of each match. She does what it takes to win for herself and for her teammates. All of her coaches and peers admire and respect her for her work ethic on and off the courts. She leads by example. "

Way to go Abby!

The football team would like to recognize Brennan Bailey for his performance last week against Troy. He is a constant force on the offensive and defensive line. He is extremely reliable at both positions. Brennan had a forced fumble and scored from 60 yards out to give Montgomery the lead in the game! Congrats Brennan!

The girls soccer team would like to recognize Nita Imeri for her work ethic, leadership and outstanding play this year. She has been solid wherever the coaches put her and is very important part of the girls 7 victories this year.
Nice job Nita!

Good luck the remainder of the Fall Season!

- Mr. Snyder
